Collaboration to support B2B economic development opportunities for visible minorities  

The Canadian Aboriginal and Minority Supplier Council (CAMSC) is is a not-for-profit organization that certifies and prepares diverse suppliers to successfully engage and respond to corporate and government buyers.

TORONTO, ONTARIO April 18, 2024 — Jumpstart Refugee Talent and the Canadian Aboriginal and Minority Supplier Council (CAMSC) have recently partnered to increase access to business opportunities for visible minority members that hold refugee, refugee claimant, or displaced person status. CAMSC is a national not-for-profit organization that supports the growth of Aboriginal and minority-owned businesses by connecting them to procurement opportunities with companies and governments. Among their many services is a national supplier certification that gives their suppliers access to an expansive Canadian network of organizations committed to diverse and inclusive supply chains.  

For Jumpstart, this new partnership with CAMSC will support the development of their refugee entrepreneur clients as they expand their business reach, both nationally and internationally. 

“CAMSC’s certification program brings a great value in building exposure for new and small business owners to a larger business clientele and B2B opportunities,” says Waseem Jawad, Jumpstart Senior Program Manager, Entrepreneurship. “This is an exciting opportunity for us to not only strengthen and expand the work of our refugee entrepreneurs, but to also partner with a strong advocate for diverse supplier inclusion in the Canadian marketplace.”
